Nicole Atkins is an indie folk singer/songwriter from Neptune, New Jersey who's that has earned her much recognition throughout the United States. Citing multiple influences of which famed auteur David Lynch and his film composer Angelo Badalamenti stand out prominently, Nicole Atkins has managed to use these influences to craft a distinct style of folk music that is extremely listenable whilst retaining a decidedly avant-garde edge.
After reading his MySpace bio that begins "I'm 18, I like fat girls, and the piano is nice," it's difficult to figure out what kind of music Tyler, the Creator creates. The highly bloggable wunderkind, and leader of Long Beach-based buzz band Odd Future, creates underground hip-hop centered around raw beats and explicit topics, generally considered offensive. Despite the aggressive nature of his music, the rapper and producer still manages to portray a certain youthful charm, somehow making his taboo topics acceptable and widely appreciated by indie music aficionados. Tyler, the Creator's entertaining appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and remix of Swedish songstress Lykke Li's "I Follow Rivers" have only bolstered his fame.
Jana Kramer is a country pop singer/songwriter and musician who first came to attention on the television series One Tree Hillin 2009. While appearing as a regular on the show, she signed with Elektra Records and released a string of successful singles. After announcing she would be leaving One Tree Hill to focus on music, Kramer dropped her eponymous debut album in 2012, earning acclaim for her vocal performance. She continues to pursue both music and acting.
