Garrison Park has facilities for picnics and team sports. It has soccer and softball fields, shuffleboards, picnic areas and a playground with slides for children.
J.M. Pike Park has two basketball half courts, soccer and softball fields and picnic areas. The playground has slides, swings and climbing areas for children.
Davis Community Park has six tennis courts as well as softball and soccer fields. It also has playgrounds, picnic areas and horseshoes. Stroll here along gentle, grass-strewn slopes and trails, under the canopy of trees.
Constructed in 1883, the McHenry Mansion was the home of Robert McHenry. The Victorian house was included in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1978. With the efforts of the City and the citizens, this mansion was restored and is now open to general public. The McHenry Mansion lends itself as a choice venue for weddings and special events.
McClatchy Square is situated in Downtown Modesto and is a lovely place to drop by. The area is covered with charming roses and is a well-maintained garden with two spaces where you can enjoy the shade on a sunny afternoon. This square can be rented out for weddings and any other kind of an event.
The Modesto Arch in Downtown Modesto is an archway flanked by two tall cypress trees. Constructed in 1912, it bears the slogan “Water, Wealth, Contentment, Health.” It is best to see this arch at night when nearly 700 incandescent lamps light it.
Moose Park is situated adjacent to Kewin Park and is replete with thickly growing trees and a natural stream. It has scenic trails and is best visited by those who enjoy fishing and walking.
Kewin Park has woody areas with trails where you can walk in solitude or company. Its pool is good for fishing while the picnic areas and playgrounds are ideal for children to run about.
Head to Boomers! Modesto with your family for a day of exhilarating fun. Climb rock walls, race on go-karts, float on bumper boats and defy gravity on the Flame Thrower ride. There are also arcade games, a Kiddie Playland, laser tag and miniature golf.

Legion Park is a triangular park situated on the banks of River Tuolumne. It has pool tables, shuffleboards, tennis and basketball courts, picnic areas and fields for playing soccer and volleyball. Fishing is also a popular activity here.
Situated along the 11 kilometer stretch of the river Tuolumne River, Tuolumne River Regional Park is an urban park covering 500 acres of public ground. The developed parkland includes areas under 4 parks of Mancini Park, Beard Brook Park, Bellenita Park and Legion Park that amount to 150 acres of the integrated regional park. The remaining 350 acres is used up for riparian habitat and recreational activities, where visitors are educated about the Tuolumne River, the wild life of the region and involves public trails and picnics. A major emphasis is laid on to increase the opportunity for public recreation and leisure activities in the region. A perfect place for a family picnic and evening trails.
