The Harlem Globetrotters are an American national institution. Though the team does not play on the NBA, its knack for performance flair and on-court theatrics has always gone over well with crowds that are looking for nothing more than an enjoyable basketball spectacle. The team was founded in Chicago in the mid 1920s and ever since the group of talented hoop shooters has been touring and entertaining audiences around the world.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra is a music ensemble that blends symphonic metal and neoclassical compositions to create an original take on orchestral music. The group is probably best known for its interesting takes on Christmas songs as well as impressive tours that feature nearly 30 musicians, pyrotechnics, exorbitant lighting and operatic renditions of traditional Xmas tunes.
Set in New York City in the 1940s, the Tony award-winning musical Guys and Dolls follows the criminal activities of a group of professional gamblers. Originally directed by George Kaufman, Guys and Dolls debuted in 1950 and won the Tony for best musical the following year. By 1955, the story had been adapted to the iconic film version, starring Vivian Blaine, who also performed in the original musical along with Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons and Frank Sinatra.
