Cherub is an electro-funk duo from Nashville, Tennessee that was founded in 2010 by Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber. Blending a defined pop vocal delivery with futuristic-sounding electronic beats and instrumentals, Cherub has managed to distinguish itself from the myriad of other acts existing in Nashville. Managing to incorporate a tongue-in-cheek style of humor into its music, the duo has had an easy time attracting a varied fan base of listeners who like 1980s-influenced synth sounds andrigorously produced electro rhythms.

Boeing-Boeing is a farcical comedy written by French playwright Marc Camoletti with translations in several different languages, including the best-known 1960s English translation by British playwright Beverley Cross. The play follows Bernard, a Parisian architect and womanizer, as he manages visits to three flight attendant fiancées of varied nationalities, only to have his planning and timetables disrupted by the introduction of a newer, faster Boeing jet. Since its seven-year opening run on London's West End in 1962, the play has won several awards. Boeing-Boeing is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most performed French play in the world.

    The Melvins

Aberdeen, Washington trio The Melvins is considered the "Godfathers of Grunge" because it was the first band to provide a link between the riffage of Black Sabbath and the indie post-punk underground that formed the genre's backbone. Started in 1983 by Buzz Osborne and Dale Rover, the wildly experimental band has followed its muse down numerous sonic pathways but is best known for the slow tempos and sludgy riffs of its early albums. The group is so crucial to the history of grunge that Kurt Cobain once tried, unsuccessfully, to audition to become the band's bassist but, being in the presence of his heroes, was too nervous to remember how to play any of their songs.

Puddle of Mudd is an alternative rock band originally based out of Kansas City. Though it has roots dating back as early as 1992, the band really gained exposure in the 2000s, joining the era's pack of post-grunge, hard rock-influenced radio bands that includes groups such as Nickelback, Creed and Fuel. In 2001, Puddle of Mudd had the pleasure of signing to Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst's record label, as the group's pop-filtered, chuggy distorted guitar rock is perfectly tailored for fans of modern rock radio. Some music fans will most certainly bash on Puddle of Mudd and its ilk for returning to the exhausted grunge-pop well a few too many times, but that assuredly won't matter at all to the group's legions of mainstream fans.
