Iowa-born artist William Elliot Whitmore is a singer/songwriter and blues musician who uses elements of folk and alternative country to create his unique sonic aesthetic. He released his debut album The Jarret Mitchel Demo Album, in 1999 with an earthy sound that stems from his upbringing on the banks of the Mississippi River. Often performing live a cappella or with a banjo, he offers a stripped-down traditional folk/blues sound driven by his raw and raspy voice and simple instrumentation.
