Ra is one place where the movers and shakers of Mumbai meet, greet and air-kiss. Part of the elite brigade are corporates who have made it big and need to celebrate amid beautiful belles. The DJ plays a mash of hip hop, Hindi pop, trance, and retro. The environs are spiked with mirror work and the high ceilings give it a grand look. Lebanese and Italian cuisine rule the menu and on Sundays the area is packed with party animals.
With the decor fusing city slick and retro chic, a state-of-the-art sound and laser system and a DJ spinning magic with hip hop and popular Bollywood numbers, Aaziaano offers the yuppie crowd heady elegance, untamed atmosphere and pulsating music. The walls are done up in bright gold with swirling bands running along the entire length of the club, while a slanting, mirrored roof is designed to represent a jungle skyline. There's also a VIP area with two comfy seating spaces designed in the shape of gold eggs with plush cushions and a well-stocked bar. If you want a breather from grooving, just step out into the courtyard that's been done up like a forest cafe with a live grill and barbecue counter. This classy nightclub surely promises a rocking time!
The sister branch of the famous Zenzi in Bandra is now rocking its way to the top . Having exotically themed parties, to normal low keyed under-ground music, Zenzi Mills only brings you the best. Blue Frog nightclub is also a music production house as the creators of this place believe that music culture should not conform to just one national or artistic style. It has a sound lab with advanced audio technology. The night club encourages artists to create their own sound and develop it internationally. The Blue Frog plays amazing live music from the country and abroad. It has a well stocked bar and offers yummy grub.
Set in an erstwhile cloth mill and as India's first, Hard Rock Cafe Mumbai is a worthy opponent to Not Just Jazz. It is synonymous with great music and the huge tapestries hanging down from the rafters (spot Bono?) and DJ Roane's playlist reinforce the 'Rock' image. Funky memorabilia and a menu peppered with anecdotes keep you entertained till your mouth-watering steak gets served. Offering decidedly American cuisine, Hard Rock Mumbai arguably serves the best burgers in town. Suspended above the stretched bar is the performance area and not holding a good spot will assure you a neck cramp. Hard Rock Cafe doesn't take reservations, so while you wait for a table (especially on a Vayu night), browse the gift shop for classic HRC tees, baseball caps, pins, key chains and other trendy knick-knacks. If you'd like to avoid this Americana altogether, maybe the laid back Ghetto or the 'bang the head that doesn't head-bang' type Toto's Garage will suit you better.
High art on the walls, dark lights and mysterious corners, this place is the quintessential smoky bar. Into the late night, the feeling of suspense gives way to an uproar on the dance floor. Munch on mouthwatering snacks as you let your hair down! Bring an ID and get a 15% discount on liquor. Call for more details.
The Czar Bar in The InterContinental Hotel is a dedicated Vodka bar with a wide range of vodkas: flavored vodkas and yummy caipiroschkas in addition to cocktails and wines. The DJ plays oldies, Bollywood and some techno. The atmosphere is brooding, dim-lit and somewhat gloomy. Though not a party venue it is an interesting place to throw back a few vodkas or have a kahlua dessert.

Of course, if you are a beer lover, this bar is one of the better places in town, as you will get decent Indian and international brands here. Call for more information.
This nightclub is surrounded with hype. Put together by two controversial socialites of Mumbai, Red Light seems to be living up to its promise. Red and black leather interiors with grey mirrors, special candle-lit VIP tables, good looking bartenders, rocking sound and technical lights, there's nothing more you can ask for. The food served is a selection of Asian tapas and the usual bric-a-brac. Go for the Tossed Prawns, Thai Chicken Satay, Spicy Jalapeno and Chili Garlic.
This nightclub is a popular hangout for young teenyboppers from colleges all over the city and especially in the neighboring areas. The prismatic interiors are almost always packed with youngsters who come here in droves. So 'shaking a leg' at the dance floor is really not possible, as you hardly have enough place to even turn your head around as the place starts to fill! The air reverberates with the beats of Reggae, Pop, Rock, Soul, Slow Rock, Motown, Disco, and the likes. When you're done with your stint on the dance floor, you can check out the delicious snacks list or cool off with one of the house cocktails. Polly Esther's is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 7pm onwards.
