»Hard Rock Cafe

Situated close to the Hyatt hotel and abutting an enormous video arcade is indicative of how this outlet has been catering to lovers of rock 'n' roll since 1997. The walls and ceiling are covered by a bewildering array of memorabilia. Add checkered table clothes, wood paneling and loud music, and the classic rock dining experience is complete. A local menu caps the usual selection of American favorites. The most popular item, a sushi roll. The oyako (chicken and egg) sandwich and the teriyaki steak are also well worth a try. If you are looking for a classy place for a drinking date, then Rondonto bar and restaurant is definitely recommended. The atmosphere and decor resembles an old English pub, as intended, and is quite relaxing. There are 200 varieties of alcohol on hand, including fine scotch and whiskey, beers like Guinness, and standard pub fare. Expect to pay more for many drinks, while simple but elegant dishes, like the popular "Devil's Chicken," are also priced similarly.

This subterranean affair with exposed beams, earth tone décor, subdued lighting and an eclectic collection of Australiana is reminiscent of the world's most elegant mineshaft. Tables for two to four are draped in pools of light adding an intimate and private setting making the restaurant popular with couples and small groups. The real appeal is in the excellent gourmet dishes, though menu items are labeled to amuse rather than inform. Road Kill, a tender baby kangaroo stew, is anything but accidental scrapings. The BBQ Platter will leave meatlovers well satisfied.

»Da-Carlo Italian Restaurant

Da-Carlo Ristorante Pizzeria has achieved a unique harmony between Japanese and Italian cuisine. The cooking is definitely in the Italian tradition which is rich, luxurious sauces, pampered impeccably, al dente pastas and delicate appetizers and desserts. The presentation is unmistakably Japanese. Do not miss the superb pizzas, which is Da-Carlo specialties. The wine list is extensive, and the atmosphere combines the best of both worlds. The head chef, who is Italian, makes the rounds of the restaurant and beams modestly as compliments come from every table he visits. Truly a treat.

»Club Quattro Nagoya

As one of the small chain of nightclubs in major cities across Japan, this club regularly books up and coming bands that have hits on the charts but are still too new to fill large concert halls. With a capacity of only a few hundred, it is possible to see some of the latest popular music in a close, intimate atmosphere. Sellouts and SRO nights are common. Established bands or their individual members, on solo or revival tours also show up occasionally.

As soon as you walk into this restaurant you feel as if you have been whisked away to somewhere in China, although the cuisine on offer here is Taiwanese. The predominant color on which most of the décor is based is red, the color associated with Chinese temples. In the summer season the main dishes are generally noodle-based variations while in winter rice gruels are most popular. If you intend to try the lunch time buffet, then you had better get there early or be prepared to wait because, with an all-you-can-eat meal, it gets very crowded.
