William E. Ward House
Rye, NY 10573
William E. Ward House or Ward's Castle was constructed way back in 1870s. This was an exemplary construction to support the theory that reinforced concrete can be utilised as a construction material. In 1976, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places and was also declared as a National Historic Civil and Concrete Engineering Landmark by the American Concrete Institute and American Society of Civil Engineers.
