Santa Fe Cattle Company is a family restaurant. The casual atmosphere and extensive menu makes it perfect for large groups. You can't go wrong with Santa Fe's famous salsa and black bean nachos. From there, you can choose from any number of Southwestern specialties such as soft tacos, burritos, quesadillas and fajitas. Or opt for American classics like burgers and southern fried catfish. Are you squeezing in a quick lunch hour? No problem! Santa Fe offers an express lunch menu featuring the same entrees found on the dinner menu.
If you crave curry or salivate over sushi, Sukho Thai is a treat. Authentic in every sense of the word, you'll delight in the eclectic atmosphere and marvel at the distinctive tastes of the region. Entrees are served to perfection and the wait staff seems genuinely happy to share the experience with you. The atmosphere is family friendly and comfortable. It is close to downtown excitement and a big part of the fun. It's a pleasant meal in Nashville for a group or couple.
Meals go better with entertainment, and you'll get your fill of great food and fun at this clever diner and cabaret—shows feature singers and dancers from the old Opryland Theme Park. Country music, pop anthems and swing music find their way onto the playbill. Breakfast shows are staged on select days and last about an hour and a half. Dinner shows begin at 6:30pm and run the same length. Nightlife is also available for holding parties, functions and reunions.
The convincing oasis setting at Cascades almost makes you forget you're in a luxury hotel. The tranquil fountains and exotic plants lend themselves perfectly to the seafood menu. Guests of the Opryland Hotel rave about the food and fine service here, but this clever upscale dining experience isn't for hotel guests only. It's perfect for a romantic dinner or business luncheon, and you will love the soft-shell crabs, salmon steaks and scallop ravioli. Start your meal with oysters on the half shell and top off the event with something from the dessert cart, which features a delightfully sinful collection of cakes, pies and tortes.
You may not think of steak houses as romantic, but Old Hickory Steakhouse inside the famed Opryland Hotel is more than a steak house. The rich wood accents and mood lighting do have a romantic quality, but you'll really fall in love with the food. Popular menu items include Filet Mignon and Prime Rib, but you'll find New York strip, Porterhouse and T-bone steaks as well. Those with an aversion to red meat should try the fresh seafood and poultry dishes.
The Aquarium Restaurant is the perfect blend between a restaurant and an aquarium attraction. Dining is situated around a 200,000 gallon floor-to-ceiling aquarium filled with over 100 different species of tropical fish and sea life, and every seat is a good seat. The menu includes a variety of surf and turf and the servers are knowledgeable about both the menu and the aquarium. The restaurant is conveniently located in the Opry Mills Mall and also includes a bar, souvenir shop, and offers opportunities for students to participate in half-day marine biology programs. Directly across from the restaurant is Stingray Reef, a hands-on exhibit owned and operated by the Aquarium Restaurant.
After many years, folks in Nashville still choose this popular Mexican eatery over any other. Why? Maybe it's because the Es Fernandos Mexican's menu boasts over 100 items. Maybe it's because the average price of an entree is less than other restaurants. Or maybe it's just, because it offers the best Mexican food in the city. Diners who want their meal in a hurry will appreciate the drive-thru window, and families will appreciate the great value.

Watanabe Sushi & Asian Cuisine truly is an Asian restaurant. Rather than being merely Asian-Fusion, the menu at Watanabe actually includes a variety of specialties pulled straight from Thai, Japanese, Chinese and Korean cuisine. The décor is dark and mysterious with light from the flickering paper lamps adding to the mood. The food is fantastic. Starters like vegetable gyoza and shrimp tempura are a perfect match for delicious entrees such as Korean Bibim Bab, Pad Thai and Japanese Pork Yaki Soba. Head Chef Hide Watanabe is a top-notch addition to the Nashville food scene. -Lynn-nore Chittom
Madison Family Restaurant is a real family restaurant. The Madison family has been serving families like yours for decades, and the southern style food here is sure to please even the pickiest clans. Beef, chicken or fish entrees come with your choice of vegetables and corn bread on the side. Burgers, some of the best in town, make a good lunch, and homemade desserts top off your meal.
Checkers, a drive-thru restaurant serves the biggest, tastiest burgers. Thick, juicy ground beef is served on seeded buns with your choice of toppings. Hotdogs and chicken sandwiches offer a little variety, but the hands-down winner is the Checkers Burger, an enormous beef patty on a huge bun. Wash down your burger with a thick, rich milkshake. On a warm day, you can almost hear these cool treats call your name.
Pepperfire Spiced Chicken adds spicy hot flavor to the Inglewood/East Nashville restaurant scene. Cooked to order, Pepperfire tries their best to please every customer with moist, spicy and delicious hot chicken just the way they want it. Open on Sundays and Mondays, Pepperfire is beating out the two most popular Nashville hot chicken joints, which are traditionally closed on those days. Service at Pepperfire is excellent and the wait time is worth the cooked-to-order nature of the meal. If you like hot chicken, you might want to order extra hot at Pepperfire. You won't be sorry. -Lynn-nore Chittom
