Based in Austin, Texas, ...and You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead is an alternative rock band that first came together in 1994 with two core multi-instrumentalist members, Jason Reece and Conrad Keely. While performing live, the group can consist of up to seven members (including two drummers) in order to recreate the dense layers heard on the band's studio releases. Influenced by hard rock and post hardcore sounds, the band utilizes synthesizers and distorted guitars that lend its sound somewhat of a progressive rock style. ...and You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead released its self-titled debut record in 1998, but didn't gain popularity until its third release on Interscope, entitled Source Tags & Codes, in 2002. The band is known for its elaborate artwork and mythological story-lines that intertwine with its music, engaging its audiences with more than just a musical experience.
