There are 24 high tech, interactive exhibits illustrating how the heart and cardiovascular system work. Open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Housed inside the University of Delaware are the University Museums which include the Mineralogical Museum, the Mechanical Hall and the Old College Gallery, all of which have different open hours. The Old College Gallery possesses over 10,000 exhibits with the focus being mostly on vintage and modern photography, while the gorgeous Mechanical Hall is known for its exciting permanent and roving exhibits. The Mineralogical Museum attracts those with a penchant for minerals, rocks, fossils and century-old artifacts that have been meticulously preserved. Note: All galleries have free admission and are open to the general public.

Old New Castle Court House is one of the few lasting courthouses of the 1600s. Built in 1775, the building now functions as a museum for local history and culture. Facts suggest that this courthouse was Delaware's first capital building.Call ahead for details.

Old Library Museum, built in 1892, is a beautiful hexagon-shaped structure possessing some of Newcastle's most interesting artifacts; most of which are derived from the New Castle Library Company.
