    The Harvey County Historical Society's Harvey County Historical Museum & Archives is housed in the 1904 Carnegie Library in Newton. This building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A permanent exhibit, "Harvey County Hall" features the history of Harvey County from pre-settlement through 2007, with sections on Native Americans, immigrants, schools, medicine and natural flora and fauna. A restored one room school, 1873 Kellas School is also open to visitors.

    The Kauffman Museum is located on the campus of Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas. This storehouse of information and knowledge specializes in telling the tale of life and all the components of life on the central plains. Their remarkable permanent exhibit, called 'Of Land and People', has earned much applause and appreciation for being a comprehensive display detailing the story of the Mennonites who arrived on the central plains in the late 19th Century, and whose existence in turn affected the human, animal, and plant life on the plains.
