Hotels that achieve the prestigious Platinum Award represent the top 3% of hotels within each Choice brand. The awards are based on a ranking system that measures guest satisfaction, product quality, room condition and cleanliness, and staff service. These properties have a proven track record of providing exceptional guest service and facilities.

Every year, our owner's organizations select a hotel as Hotel of the Year for each of our brands. The contenders for this prestigious award demonstrate excellence in guest service and operations and are among the very top-ranked Platinum Award-winning properties within each brand. Demonstrating excellence in hospitality, service and quality, the Hotel of the Year Award winners set the standards for our entire system.
Washington D.C. trio Jukebox the Ghost formed in 2003 during the hiatus of lead singer Ben Thornewill and guitarist Tommy Siegel's band The Sunday Mail. Taking its name from blending together a quote from Nabokov's novel Pnin and a Captain Beefheart song, the newly formed band began writing new material that focused on pop hooks and lyrical ingenuity, much like the band's namesakes. The band toured extensively upon the release of its first album in 2006, but received its big break with a surprisingly last minute invitation to appear on The Late Show with David Letterman in September of 2010.
