This 18-hole golf course today offers an excellent surface to play but the small lakes, streams, grass and muddy surfaces test your golfing skills.The on-board golf shop stocks modern golf accessories. Not all who come here are pros, so many amateurs take lessons from the professional golfers who teach and give out golfing tips to the new entrants.The club can also be hired for weddings and other social events.

»Oyster Bay

South of the Oakland Airport in San Leandro lies this East Bay Regional Park where nature enthusiasts can come to enjoy a variety of wildlife in their natural habitat. On any given day you might see marsh hawks, black-shouldered kites, red-tailed hawks, seagulls, and more. The park features great views of the Bay, walking trails that lead to a vista point and public facilities like picnic tables, water fountains, and restrooms.

»Chuck Corica Golf Complex

This is the most frequented golf course in the San Francisco Bay Area. The three course facility is owned by the island city and it's known for its well maintained grounds. It has two 18 hole par 71/72 courses: the popular Early Fry course and the straighter Jack Clark South course. Plus it has a 9 hole track called the Mif Albright course, a driving range, and top notch locker facilities. The course is utilized by persons of all skills and ages, so many, in fact, that it's recommended that you reserve a tee time at least a week in advance.

This beautiful wedding cake of a mansion, built in 1899, is an outstanding example of the Neo-classical Revival style significant enough to have been designated a National Historic Site by the United States Department of the Interior. The 37-room estate features a Tiffany-style dome, ten fireplaces and lovely parquet floors in its 16,224 square-feet. During the winter holiday season, the house features magnificent decorations and hosts a number of special festive events.

»Lake Merritt Boating Center

Now you can row, sail, and pedal in the middle of downtown Oakland thanks to this place. The city-run entity on Lake Merritt rents sail boats, pedal boats, canoes, kayaks, and rowboats to the public by the hour at low prices with only one catch, but it is a good one. Everyone must wear a life preserver. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Explore the 195-acre, eight-foot deep lake and then afterwards, enjoy a picnic at Lakeside Park.
