Built by local teens and professional skaters in conjunction with architects, this is a sort of paradise for in-line skating enthusiasts. You will have to find your way down to Orland Park's Centennial Park, but the trip is worth the effort. There are 25,000 square feet of winding trails, concrete half-pipes and stairs for climbing, tricking on or merely rolling by.

The Indian Boundary Prairie is composed of a group of four separate prairies - Dropseed, Gensburg, Paintbrush and Sundrop - that together form what is Illinois' largest surviving expanse of grassland. The prairies are home to a diverse and varied plethora of plants and wildlife, including a multitude of butterflies, birds and wild flowers. The landscape is forever changing, with new and wondrous sights to behold throughout the year. The preserve is managed by the Nature Conservancy and Northeastern Illinois University, in conjunction with the Friends of the Indian Boundary Prairies. Apart from serving as a safe haven for a variety of rare and endangered species, the prairies also form the perfect backdrop for a host of awareness and educational programs that highlight the importance of conserving our natural heritage. Visitors are welcome to explore the preserve on their own, and a number of pathways have been laid down to help guide the way. As you make your way through the preserve, keep an eye out for rare plant, butterfly and bird species including the eastern prairie white fringed orchid, the Aphrodite fritillary and great yellow legs. The preserve is open daily from dawn to dusk. Located just off Route 57, all four prairies lie within Markham's city limits.

Spread over 10 acres (4.04 hectares), the spacious facility of the Arabian Knights Farms & Training Center lies in the town of Willowbrook, about 23 miles (37 kilometers) from Chicago. The Two 18-hole Bent grass courses, Port and Starboard, at Harborside International Golf Center are open to the public. Even though this is a public course, many consider it as fine as the best private courses. This place offers various facilities. Green fees on a weekday for a 18-hole is USD65; gas carts are included. Tee times are accepted up to 14 days in advance. There is a dress policy - no denim and collared shirt.
