Rated 1 out of 5 Worst property I ever stayed It is unfortunate there is no clarity about the level of expectations you need to have before booking this property. It is an old Paris building so there no A/C on any room. That's fine when you know ahead of time, you decide if you want to stay in the summer time at a place where it will get as hot as 90% in the room. But the worse is where this place is located. All the area around Gare de l'est is riddled with business that serve as front to peddling for some sort of shady services (use your imagination). I should know better as all my French colleagues grilled me about. For the first time in years in Paris I was afraid to get to my hotel late at night. Granted, they will not bother you but that is not enough to appease your mind when you have to walk though them. Besides that, hotel staff does it best to accommodate you to the point where the reception guy gave me his own fan. Housekeeping was terrible, they did not change the bedding even though pillows were obviously in need of change after a night of heavy sweating. September 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 Awesome staff This hotel was a good choice for the price. Clean rooms and friendly staff…only thing missing was ac unit in rooms and an ice machine in the hotel. There was a couple of nights where my husband would have to go out looking for a market that would sell him some ice. June 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 Rooms small, but clean. Noisy if room is located in the front on the street. Beds comfortable. Good location. May 24, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 The front desk staff were very helpfull and friendly once the room problem was sorted out. May 17, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 Floors 6 & 7 do not have elevator access, and you will be using exterior stairs to reach them. Place had major construction (Sept '13) at the time. September 23, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 The room itself is decent sized(for Paris or Europe in general). The location is extremely convenient for trains. Food around there is very good too. The neighborhood itself is very 'run-down', I wouldn't want to stay there again. They all spoke English, even down to the repair guy. The room always had a weird smell. Our room was freshly painted. Even the paint smell couldn't take away the other smell. There is no Air conditioning although since we were on the top floor, we had skylights that we opened(no screen door) at the risk of bugs(one spider is all we saw) getting in. July 2, 2013
