The Wichita Shockers represents the athletic programs and
intercollegiate teams of Wichita State University in Kansas. An NCAA Division I member, the school competes in the Missouri Valley Conference. Wichita State fields a variety of men's and women's teams in sports such as baseball, basketball, softball, tennis, golf, soccer and cross country. The school's men's basketball teams have made several runs in the NCAA and NIT tournaments over the years, and its men's baseball team won the national title in 1989.
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane sports program includes the intramural and extramural sports teams of the University of Tulsa. Before adopting the name Golden Hurricanes in 1922, the University of Tulsa had many unofficial team nicknames, including the Kendallites, the Presbyterians, the Tulsans and the Tigers. The teams play in the NCAA Division I as part of Conference USA.
