STAR is a five-day educational and experiential training that brings together restorative justice, human security, spirituality and conflict transformation to: Address traumaBreak cycles of violenceBuild individual and collective resilience Participants will: Identify types of trauma and its impact on the body, brain and behavior of individuals/communitiesExamine the links between unhealed trauma and cycles of victimhood/violence - in families, organizations and nationsLearn tools and processes for addressing trauma and breaking cycles of violenceExplore resilience and ways to build it, including self-care strategies Identify ways to bring a trauma-informed perspective to your organization Who should attend? STAR participants include Military Personnel, Family Members, DA Civilians, First Responders, Community Leaders, Educators, Medical Staff, Caregivers, Clergy. STAR welcomes everyone who wishes to become more trauma-informed.   Watch the STAR Video Lodging The course will be held at the Airborne & Special Operations Museum, located in Fayetteville's historic district. Lodging is available at a variety of hotels within a 3-5 mile radius. STAR participants are responsible for their own lodging and meals. Light refreshments will be provided throughout the training. You will need to bring or buy your lunch. There are a selection of local eateries near ASOM, accessible by car or walking. Parking Parking is available free of charge. Handicap parking is located close to the ASOM entrance. All museum exhibits and grounds are open to the public at no charge. Contributions are by donation. Dress Code Business casual is appropriate. CEU's Continuing Education Units are available for an additional fee ($30.00).
