Immersing himself in the modern delta blues scene, upon his relocation to New Orleans, Osborne has proven himself as a reputable singer who can belt out notes in a way that few living singers can.

»No More Silence On Violence We Speak... #forgiveness2heal #godsway

March 05, 2015 7:00 PM

Violence is a disease that is running rampant in our society today impacting individuals, families, businesses large and small and the community as a whole - and it has no regard for socioeconomic status, race or gender. We see it daily in the news, from stories like Michael Brown to the domestic violence cases of NFL players to shootings happening in our schools and other public venues. There are many more stories just like these that never hit the national spotlight. This violence is causing a ripple effect of grief and fear starting with the immediate families and friends and then moving through all of society. The truth is there is a cure for this violence. It begins with forgiveness and continues with people getting involved. Forgiveness isnt ignoring the facts of the situation, releasing people from the consequences of their actions and by no means condoning the violence. Forgiveness is the cure that will help us to break the cycle of the personal pain and sense of revenge that fuels the cycle of violence. This message and event is being fueled by Monica Hawkins, a mom whose son, Donté Hawkins was murdered May 6, 2012 due to street violence. She has been walking the grief journey and the path to forgiveness since that night. She is asking us all to stand and commit to No More Silence On Violence! For this event, we will be breaking the silence on violence with a showcase, a panel discussion allowing leaders from different sections of the community to shed light on this topic; and finishing with a concert with local Christian rap artist Ronnell RJ Hunt. **Vendor tables and sponsorship opportunities are available. »Lights, X Ambassadors

March 05, 2015 8:00 PM

Toronto-based singer/songwriter Lights Poxleitner has been able to straddle the line between mainstream and indie ever since first coming onto the scene in 2008 at the ripe age of 16. Though she initially wrote songs for other artists, label heads began taking notice and Lights soon found herself with a record deal. While her music primarily consists of slick synth-pop appropriate for any dance club or Top 40 radio slot, Lights' recent collaboration with the respected Canadian electronica act Holy Fuck has hardened up her sound a bit and added a refreshing dose of grit to her pop.
