Late Nite Catechism
Plymouth PlayhouseMarch 28, 2015 7:30 PM
2705 Annapolis Lane North
Plymouth, MN 55441
Sunday school it's not -- "Late Nite Catechism" is a hilarious two-act solo performance that's part catechism class from back in the day, part stand-up routine. Dressed in her head-to-toe habit, Sister will take you back to a time when Mass was in Latin, Fridays were meatless and "discipline" was measured out in smacks of a ruler. During this interactive comedy in which the audience becomes Sister's class, she will reward her "charges" for correct answers with religious trinkets like glow-in-the-dark rosaries and holy cards. But naughty students better watch out: they may well find themselves on stage, sitting in the corner reflecting upon their sins both venial and mortal.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Old Log TheaterMarch 28, 2015 7:30 PM
5185 Meadville Street
Excelsior, MN 55331
Singing swindlers, high livin' on the French Riviera, a cockeyed competition and a score by the composer of "The Full Monty" make "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" a dynamite musical adaptation of the popular 1988 film starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine. While the suave Lawrence Jameson charms wealthy women out of thousands, Freddy Benson uses pity to cadge free meals from the tenderhearted. In a battle for territory, the two agree to a contest: The first to wheedle $50,000 out of a beautiful heiress wins, and the entire Riviera is his and his alone. Excelsior's Old Log Theatre presents this Tony-nominated show that's sure to keep you laughing (and checking for your wallet).
