»Alchemist Theater & Lounge

This little improv theater/bar sits in the trendy, quickly becoming gentrified South Milwaukee district of Bayview. Inside, patrons can sidle up to the bar and order a drink then turn the corner and see a show. The theater itself is quite small, the stage is tiny and there are only 70 seats. The spectacles performed here vary from classics to more contemporary avant-garde pieces and every night promises to be unique. Additionally, this place succeeds where other Alchemists couldn't by finally mixing different elements and turning them into stage gold.

»Cactus Club

For more than fifteen years, the Cactus Club has played host to a veritable who's who list of modern rock. Famous acts like The White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age, Spoon, Interpol, Bright Eyes, and a plethora of others have played on their stage. The club is located in South Milwaukee and the place is definitely small, but this is to your advantage because the shows are very intimate.

»Koz's Mini Bowl

Milwaukee is a city filled with cool retro nightlife, from Tiki bars to polka halls, this bar with four mini bowling lanes only adds to the list. The interior of Koz's looks like it is part hunting club, part dive bar, in fact they have a massive lion's head along with its hide perched over a bar cabinet. Despite the kitschy and eclectic decorations, most people come here to bowl. In the back, guests can enjoy their PBR while they roll some mini balls down some tiny lanes and if the place is too crowded, the bar has a pool table and great drinks until the next round becomes available.
