»Peter and The Wolf

March 29, 2015 2:00 PM

Peter and the Wolf is a charming children's tale originally written with a score by Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev in 1936. Prokofiev orchestrated the piece to be accompanied by spoken narration. It has since become a fixture of children's literature, evolving into storybook, play and balletic adaptations. The story tells of a brave young boy, Peter, who captures a wolf in his front yard, sparing its life from the hunters who wish to kill it, and parading through town with his captor. The imaginative tale has lasted for generations, a children's classic woven into the fabric of many cultures around the world.

»Rocky Votolato Living Room Show

March 30, 2015 8:00 PM

Rocky Votolato is an American indie folk singer/songwriter from the Pacific Northwest. Raised on a diet of outlaw country artists such as Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash before he eventually found indie rock as a teenager, his songwriting contains shades of both styles. While performing live, Votolato usually plays solo, relying on the stark honesty of his guitar playing and expressive voice. His strengths lie in an ability to work just as effectively in the context of both sparsely intimate material and more energetic songs, making him a can't miss pick for a variety of indie folk fans.
