»La Traviata

November 28, 2014 8:30 PM

Enjoy Verdi's masterpiece 'La Traviata' with ballet. The Opera in Roma presents La Traviata with unique dance elements, as required in Verdi's original score. The Traviata history is about Violetta, a courtesan of Parisian houses well renowed between the men of the city because of her life style. At one of her brilliant parties, the beautiful but frail demi-mondaine Violetta meets the well-born Alfredo Germont, and for love of him abandons her feverish life of pleasure. Alfredo’s father intrudes on their idyllic existence in the country and aks Violetta to renounce to Alfredo because of their family’s reputation. She decides to move, leaving only a note for Alfredo. She appears at a ball in Flora’s house on the arm of an old admirer, Baron Douphol, to the fury of Alfredo. Unable to persuade Violetta to go with him, Alfredo insults her and is challenged by the Baron. At last, his father has told him of Violetta’s noble renunciation. Overjoyed at the sight of him, Violetta attempts to rise. But it is too late. Violetta dies in Alfredo’s arms. The themes of the melodrama are two: love and death. The inspiration of the composer is around this elements, that he never expressed in a such strong way before this opera. Violetta (soprano): Roberta PolveriniAlfredo Germont (tenor): Emil AlekperovGiorgio Germont (bariton): Maurizio Zanchetti
