    The Bots

    San Diego, CA 92101
Mikaiah and Anaiah Lei were 15 and 12 respectively when they first stepped into the studio as The Bots. Despite their young age, the brothers have crafted a lo-fi garage punk sound of their own with quick-fire drumming and and raw guitar grinds. The Bots released Self-Titled Album in 2009 and followed by 2010's Black and White Lights. The band was critically acclaimed as one of the stand-out acts of the 2011 Vans Warped tour, and its sound is only getting sharper as it ages. The band's third album 2011's Ladies & Gentlemen, demonstrates a much deeper voice by lead vocalist and guitarist Mikaiah as well as drummer Anaiah's strengthened hold on intricate rhythms.

    Lykke Li

    San Diego, CA 92104
Growing up in Sweden, Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson was exposed to a good deal of divergent music--Sweden is known to have an amazing electronic pop scene, an impressive death metal niche, as well as a formidable indie rock movement. As she grew up, Zachrisson started delving into her country's music and eventually started writing and performing her own original songs. Her initial recordings were fairly rough, but her undeniable talent was evident and these tracks caught the interest of a few prominent Swedish musicians who offered to produce the up-and-comer's first legitimate album. Opting to record under the moniker Lykke Li, the Scandinavian songstress quickly became a favorite of indie rock connoisseurs in her home country and also in countries like the US and UK.

    The Dig
    Soda BarSeptember 22, 2014 9:30 PM
    3615 El Cajon Boulevard
    San Diego, CA 92104
The Dig might not have become an official band until 2007, but it has its roots with David Baldwin and Emile Mosseri, who met in 6th grade and began playing together as an early incarnation of The Dig immediately thereafter. As the two young musicians progressed through high school and college, they picked up band members along the way until the band was fully fleshed out into a four-piece. Based out of New York, the group's breed of likable indie rock full of pop hooks and angular guitars, reminiscent of The Strokes, has won it residencies at respected venues and spots opening up for prominent bands that come through the city. While The Dig's fame might be centralized in New York, as it begins touring outside of state lines, the group is quickly building up a more extensive fan base.
