»Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

January 30, 2015 8:00 PM

The biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors is brought to vibrant life by the blockbuster musical-theater team of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice ("Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita"). This pop-music parable is based on the Book of Genesis story about the young man who's sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and ends up in Egypt, where he rises through the ranks and grapples with the pharaoh -- who's portrayed in the hilariously flamboyant style of Elvis. Set to a high-energy mix of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock, this family-friendly Old Testament tale has proven to be truly timeless. This Lamb's Players Theatre production hits the stage at San Diego's Horton Grand Theatre.

»Badfish - A Tribute To Sublime

January 30, 2015 7:00 PM

Bradley Nowell, lead singer/songwriter for the seminal band Sublime, may have died prematurely, but the soul-filled music he wrote for Sublime lives on because of Badfish: A Tribute To Sublime. The members met while attending the University of Rhode Island in 2001; five years after Nowell's passing. The trio plays all of Sublime's timeless songs like "Santeria" and "Wrong Way." When the members of Badfish feel the urge to write original songs they perform them in the group Scotty Don't.
