»The Kracker Jax / Industry Night

    September 22, 2014 9:00 PM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZuXHeZy0QkClint Westwood - singer for Whiskey Avengers. Presiding in the dormant pits of the San Francisco Bay Area, renegade Reggae and Rocksteady outfit the Whiskey Avengers are on the cusp of their third full length album Dead Man Rockin.’ With only half the head count since the 2009 release ‘Wet and Wreckless’ they have once again flexed musical muscle by redefining themselves as king of the underdogs, this time by way of a power quartet. Staying true to their origins of traditional Jamaican style Ska and Rocksteady mixed with West-Coast Reggae, they have seamlessly infused a new blend of Rock, Soul and Folk Americana that lends itself to multiple generations of castaways and bad apples. They continue to shine a match light on the dark corners of clubs and city streets with fatalistic tales of doom, debauchery, tough love, and redemption set to memorable melodies that happily haunt all those who dare sing along. Entirely self-produced and recorded, this time they have teamed up with legendary studio engineer Michael Rosen to spit shine their sound creating a seemingly unstoppable independent musical force. The Whiskey Avengers continue to strong-arm one unsuspecting fan at a time with tantalizing true grit that defines the grassroots American voice.

    »The Bots

    September 22, 2014 8:30 PM

Mikaiah and Anaiah Lei were 15 and 12 respectively when they first stepped into the studio as The Bots. Despite their young age, the brothers have crafted a lo-fi garage punk sound of their own with quick-fire drumming and and raw guitar grinds. The Bots released Self-Titled Album in 2009 and followed by 2010's Black and White Lights. The band was critically acclaimed as one of the stand-out acts of the 2011 Vans Warped tour, and its sound is only getting sharper as it ages. The band's third album 2011's Ladies & Gentlemen, demonstrates a much deeper voice by lead vocalist and guitarist Mikaiah as well as drummer Anaiah's strengthened hold on intricate rhythms.
