The retro luxuriousness of Bimbo's 365 Club's interior adds unexpected character to the venue. A wide variety of artists perform here, from local talent to major-label superstars on international tours. Past headliners have included the Detroit Cobras, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, They Might Be Giants, Seu Jorge, Aimee Mann and the Flaming Lips. »7th Note

Depending on the date, you could find a Goth rock band or a swing band swinging. The crowd will be dressed according to the show, so the scene is never the same. But, what you CAN count on is a great show! There is a big stage, excellent sound, a bar, balcony, couches and tables where you can take it all in. Plus the crowd never disappoints when it comes to being entertaining in and of themselves.

Do not come here for sightseeing. The drag queens that drink at Divas venture to this popular spot to let their hair down and have fun. Mostly over 40, the men here are pretty tough, despite floor-length dresses and always friendly. If you are a veteran of the scene however, you will like it here fine and you will find a crowd that appreciates the nuances of fine drag. Drinks are strong and the service is fast, you are, after all, among royalty. Only cash is accepted.

The big white ship's bow labeled "Titanic" jutting out over this bar's entrance is hard to miss. Inside Gangway may have a nautical theme as well, but it is just a little too dark to tell for sure. Even in the obscurity, you will notice several suits and ties in here. There is a courthouse nearby and many lawyers and their clients sneak in here, at Gangway, throughout the day for respite from their legal battles.

This classic San Franciscan bar, located below the former Cable Car Theater, is literally accessed via a slide. What is known today as Slide was the former Cafe Dans, which served as a speakeasy for illegal gambling and spirits during prohibition. Ladies make sure to wear pants if you come for the slide, skirts and shorts are prohibited due to "slide burn." This underground adult playground retains the decor of the 1920s era, while priding itself for its modern-chic atmosphere. Looking for a Vegas-like nightclub in SF? Slide provides bottle service starting for premium liquor and plays 80s and 90s hits. They also hold events regularly.
