Since 1982, over 100 main stage children's productions have been presented by this non-profit theater organization. Young Performers Theatre is the only full-time children's theater in San Francisco, and has been successfully turning out well known classics such as Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh, along with locally written pieces, like The Baker Street Irregulars by Sean Owens. The theater is also an Academy, dedicated to teaching and encouraging Bay Area youth to pursue theater as a form of artistic expression and self-esteem.

Founded in 1971 by the rock band, "Wolfgang & Strauss", Blue Bear School of Music, a non-profit music school teaches rock, folk, blues and jazz to musicians of any age or talent. Choose from classes including guitar, bass, voice, theory, song-writing and band workshops. You can take either private or group lessons, seminars, or a comprehensive study program. Experienced teachers, who have played with bands like Billy Idol, Norah Jones, and the Counting Crows offer a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Located on the third floor of the iconic Fort Mason Center, the Bayfront Theater is home to BATS Improv since 1997. It is one of the country’s biggest performance venues dedicated solely to improvisational plays. Bayfront is also used as a teaching zone by BATS conducting 400 workshops and hosts around 170 shows yearly. The BATS Cafe based inside the Bayfront Theater opens 30 minutes prior every act. Silver Cloud attracts a good mix of the old and young. With the fun loving crowd of exciting Marina District, this karaoke bar hits just the right chords. Come here for an enjoyable time over drinks and food that is reasonably priced. Seafood served in the elegant dinner room overlooking the patio garden is a delectable treat. This theater has been staging challenging, innovative, culturally diverse, contemporary works since 1967. Sam Shepard was Playwright-In-Residence for many years and the company still stages his works. The theater space is small and well-conceived. With the intimate and informal atmosphere, there isn't a bad seat in the house. The Magic Theatre is a perfect place to catch some great talent.
Situated nicely on the courtyard of Fisherman's Wharf, Cobb's features nightly lineups of talented comedians. Both tourists and locals are found here, laughing themselves to tears. Wednesday's three-hour "All-Pro Showcase" has 14 comics, featuring well-known, occasionally famous, acts. Previous performers include Robin Williams, Jerry Seinfeld, Rob Schneider and Kathy Griffin.
