    Ithaca, NY 14850
Born in Benin and raised in Paris, Angelique Kidjo is not only a singer and songwriter of world music that features African beats and nu jazz undertones, but also an activist. Kidjo serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and also founded the Batonga Foundation, which provides young African girls with the educational aid they need to be leaders in their countries. Her African inspiration is paramount in much of her work; she produces a number of traditional pieces. However, her inspirations are varied and include pop, African and Caribbean music and zouk, a fast tempoed style of classical West Indian folk. Many of her songs also feature cameos by successful artists including John Legend and Bono. Kidjo's African music has become universal and her soulful pieces are known worldwide.

    Ithaca, NY 14850
Jenny Lewis is a singer/songwriter and musician from Southern California who rose to recognition during the 2000s as the primary vocalist of the indie rock band Rilo Kiley. She first ventured into a solo career in 2004, when Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes invited her to record a solo effort with the Team Love imprint. The resulting record, 2006's Rabbit Fur Coat, featuring contributions from renowned modern folk artists such as M. Ward, Ben Gibbard and Oberst himself, earned Lewis widespread attention in all realms of indie music, proving she could stand alone as an ardent front-woman of her own project. She subsequently toured with The Watson Twins, who act as her backing band, and went on to record and perform with her boyfriend Johnathan Rice, under the moniker Jenny and Johnny.
