The Shepherdstown Opera House, one of the nation's oldest movie theatres, first begin showing films in 1909. The Opera House has gone through a renovation and reopened. Once again, the Opera House sparkles with life, using the finest projection and sound systems available to entertain a new generation with the best movies being made today.
The War Memorial Building was acquired by the Shepherdstown Men's Club in the year 1947 and given its present name, to honor the dead of the World War II. The place has been refurbished several times since then and has taken over several roles. Now, the War Memorial Building is used as an eclectic events space to conduct the meetings and events of the club. The place is also rented out for private parties and celebrations. Located at the cross junctions between the German street and King street, the place is easy to spot and reach. If you are in the city, ensure that you pay a visit here, as a mark of respect for the dead and to appreciate the beauty of the monument.
