Spread out over four and a half acres of property, the Texas Trail Museum is actually comprised of several places of interest and historic buildings within the property. A great place to get an idea of the local history and culture of the region of Southeast Wyoming, the museum preserves the rich cultural heritage of the area and presents them through their exhibitions and displays. Visitors will find places like the old school house, the Brodine-Walker Boarding House, Union Pacific Caboose and Browser Homestead House. Kids will enjoy a visit to the Agriculture and Transportation building where displays of Plains Indians artifacts can be found. They'll enjoy playing in the tipi and seeing the old 1938 fire truck on display. The museum is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Appointments on request are available. The Mansion on the Hill is a local history museum and historic place of interest maintained by the Keith County Historical Society. The house was built in 1887 and the structure was the pinnacle of class, elegance and affluence when it was built. The house is completely furnished according to period style with authentic fittings and materials. Step back through time as you explore the house, with its nine rooms, two baths and restored kitchen.
