Slaughter is a hard rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada that was formed in 1988. Led by lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Mark Slaughter, the band earned widespread acclaim in 1990 with its debut album, Stick It to Ya, and thehit singles "Up All Night" and "Fly to the Angels". Shortly after Slaughter's follow-up record The Wild Life, Mark was arrested in 1993 while fellow founder and bassist Dana Strum suffered a severe motorcycle accident, delaying the recording process of a third album. By the time the band was up and running, the music business climate had shifted, so that its label Chrysalis was absorbed by EMI, who ultimately dropped Slaughter from its team. The band recovered and signed a deal with CMC International to release its next few albums, including 1999's Back to Reality.
