Recognized as an NCAA Division I school, the university competes in the West Coast Conference, which is comprised entirely of religious institutions. Gonzaga's men's basketball team has been very successful over the years and is a regular entrant in the NCAA March Madness tournament. The team also earned number one seeding for the tournament in the 2012-2013 season. Other men's and women's sports supported by Gonzaga include soccer, baseball, tennis, golf, cross country, volleyball and more.
