As the name suggests, this park sits in the heart of the city, and is a popular meeting spot for its inhabitants. The park is well-landscaped with paved walkways and ample open spaces. While the park doesn't have a thick tree cover, strategically planted maple, gum and oak trees make for a picturesque sight. Pride of the park and a delight for the kids, is the Big Splash interactive fountain, the largest one in the county. The amphitheater within the park is host to numerous concerts and cultural events throughout the year.
For a slice of the Middle Ages, the Medieval Times - Atlanta Castle is the perfect place to go with your family and friends. Experience the action at this dinner and show facility where six knights combat with swords and display expert horsemanship set in Medieval Spain. Explore the Hall of Arms and the torture museum. Built and designed in 1885, the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse was refurbished in 1908. It was done carefully so as to preserve its old world charm while simultaneously modernizing it. Keeping original elements such as the 4-story belfry, turret door, Palladian windows and false fireplaces intact, this courthouse is truly a gem.
