The Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church is an ethnically diverse church operating under the Bulgarian Diocese of USA. Even though it is under Bulgarian supervision, it is not ethnically Bulgarian and offers its services in English. The church does not seek collections during service and is run on donations by its members. The staff and the clergy of the church work without any salary as they see their profession a blessing from God. It welcomes newcomers to explore the church to see if it is suitable to them and their families. It also provides etiquette booklets in order to ease the initial nervousness that some might experience while witnessing the unusual and confusing practices of the church
The Eastwood Baptist Church of East Syracuse seeks to spread knowledge about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and help in the spiritual development of individuals. There are ministries available for men, women and youth groups where members can discuss the teachings Christianity and build strong relations with each other. Bible study groups and adult education classes on Christian theology are also available. For the younger members there is the boy scouts, children ministries, a children's choir, a "Compassion kids" group and many other activities and programs. The church has a wide variety of outreach programs in association with regional, national and international church ministries.
The First United Church of East Syracuse was formed in 1969 when the First Presbyterian Church and the First Methodist Episcopal church came together under one roof as a congregation after the building of the latter was burned down by a fire. The church service is guided by the Bible scriptures and contemporary issues of peace, race relations and social justice are often discussed during the sermons. It has an adult education class where members can discuss the teachings of the bible while gaining more knowledge about the teachings of Christ through peer interactions. There is a child care facility available for young children and a dynamic and active youth group for older kids where they participate in fun activities like ice-skating, bowling, mini-golf, camping as well as community service programs such as mission projects. The Emmanuel Episcopal Church of East Syracuse was built in the year of 1884 when a wealthy family named Vanderbuilt donated money to form a mission for railroad workers and families. It is a member of the worldwide Episcopal community and follows the Anglican branch of Christianity. The church has its own parking lot and disabled access to the building is available.
St. Matthew's is a catholic church belonging to the Diocese of Syracuse. The church building itself is rather impressive, established in 1880, and built in the Gothic style. With beautiful stained glass, high vaulted ceilings and an ornate altar. Since 1933, the St. Daniels Church has been serving the catholic community of Syracuse. Actively involved in community life, besides being a regular place of worship, the St. Daniels Church is a haven and spiritual retreat for its congregation. Regular Sunday Mass is held at 8a, 10a and 12p, besides which there is special Mass on Holy Days. Daily Mass is also held at 6.50a and 12.10p. The Collamer United Methodist Church of East Syracuse was formed in 1974 when the local Presbyterian and Methodist church came together to officially become one church. It has various ministries for men, women, youth and children. There is a women's fellowship group which meets monthly to discuss the teachings of the bible and prepare donation items for the various outreach programs the church organizes. Some of the notable programs include - distribution of sleeping bags to the homeless, hand made shawl distribution drive and monthly food donations to the local community.
