The Roland Cooper State Park is a state park located in Alabama, near Camden. One of the main attractions at the park is its nine hole golf course that was built in 1972. Recreation at the park includes a number of cabin and cottage stays, campgrounds, picnic areas, wildlife watching, fishing and boating facilities.
Gaineswood is located in Demopolis. It is a pre-American Civil War plantation house that was under construction for almost two decades. Designed by General Nathan Bryan Whitfield, it is an iconic example of the Greek Revival style of architecture in the state. It got added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 5, 1972.

It got listed in the National Register of Historic Places in the year 1970 and in the Historic American Buildings Survey in the year 1936. It is called so owing to the fact that it rests atop a mountain with a view to the White Bluff River. Originally serving as a private residence, it is currently owned by the Marengo County Historical Society serving as a historic museum.
