»Shirayuki Brewery Village Grand Place

The spacious interior of Shirayuki Brewery Village Grand Place has attempted to recreate an evening scene in the Grand Place of Brussels, giving it a romantic, if slightly surreal, atmosphere. A large variety of fare, mostly a blend of Japanese and French cuisine, is available, one being the Belgian favorite, mussels and fries. These are prepared in one of the establishment's two kitchens, which is actually a franchise of the Belgian restaurant Chez Léon. The other feature here is the gold, brown, and white varieties of the jibiiru beer, which is brewed on the premises.

»Star Eyes

Jazz thrives in Japan, and this place is one of the best in Nagoya to hear some really good live acts, as well as partake of some good eats and drinks. A little off the beaten track, but still easy to get to, this place also offers a slightly more spacious venue and a more rational layout than many such “live houses” in town. Live bands include local artists as well as national and international guests.

»Seattle Espress Coffee Company Limited

Before Seattle Express coffee was able to prevail in Nagoya, an enterprising American established that there was a market here for gourmet coffees at reasonable prices. Succeeding with a flavorful, high-quality product, the “Espress” brand is now franchised in several locations around the city. The main shop is conveniently located within a bookstore that also serves as an Internet cafe. In addition to offering a wide variety of coffees and soft drinks with accompanying pastries, customers can surf the Internet at leisure. Live music can also be enjoyed on some evenings.
