Brazilian heavy metal band Cavalera Consiracy was formed in 2007, a year that marked the end of Max and Igor Cavalera's ten-year feud. The brothers originally founded the band Sepultra in the 1980s but parted ways after management disagreements. While the two musicians were both working on different musical projects, Max invited Igor to play with his band Soulfly and then after the show, suggested that the they begin a new band. With Soulfly guitarist Marc Rizzo and the lead singer of Gojira Joe Duplantier on bass, Max and Igor recorded Cavalera Conspiracy's debut album Inflikted, released in 2008. The band followed the album with the "Ikfliktour" tour of Europe, during which it demonstrated its sound as combination of hardcore punk and Sepultura-esque death and groove metal guitar solos. Duplantier's commitments to Gojira kept him from touring with Cavalera Conspiracy so he was replaced by Fireball Ministry bassist Johny Chow, who contributed to Cavalera Conspiracy's second album Blunt Force Trauma, released in 2011.

Evita

With a stunning score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and the famed lyrics of Tim Rice, the compelling true story of Argentina's former first lady Eva Perón comes to vivid life on stage at Tacoma Musical Playhouse. Filled with showstoppers like "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" and "Another Suitcase in Another Hall," "Evita" follows a small-town peasant girl as she uses her considerable smarts to rise from the slums of Argentina. Driven by ambition and blessed with charisma, she became a starlet at 22, the president's mistress at 24, First Lady at 27, and died at 33. Eva Peron, "saint to the working-class, reviled by the aristocracy and mistrusted by the military," left a political legacy that shines on to this day. With its compelling score that fuses haunting chorales with exuberant Latin, pop and jazz influences, "Evita" creates an arresting theatrical portrait as complex as the woman herself.
