»Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.

November 23, 2014 7:00 PM

Formed in Detroit, Michigan, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. is an alternative pop band that was named after a legendary NASCAR racing family. Based off of the origin of the band's name, a perceptive individual might think that the type of music this band creates would be very masculine and almost imposingly virile. These assumptions would be wrong, though, because Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. makes some extremely sunny music that's vulnerable--but not overtly so--and fairly uplifting. If you're in a sour state of mind, going to see Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. will undoubtedly cure your groggy disposition.

»Bloomfield Hills High School Presents: Grease

November 23, 2014 2:00 PM

Although most people associate the title Grease with the 1978 film starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John, the cult classic was adapted from the 1971 musical written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. Originally titled Grease Lightning, the story follows a group of Rydell High students as they explore several controversial issues of adolescence including sex, gangs, the process of entering adulthood and changing personal identities. Renowned musical numbers such as "Summer Nights," "Hopelessly Devoted to You" and "We Go Together" bring the magic of the stage and movies together for a production that has seen six Broadway and West End revivals combined since its original Chicago debut in 1971.
