    »Teenage Kicks

    September 16, 2014 6:30 PM

Teenage Kicks is an alternative rock band from Toronto, Canada that seeks to combine all the elements necessary to bring its music back to the basics of good old fashioned rock and roll. In a new musical era where instant gratification and complex--and often pretentious--arrangements reign supreme, to many, Teenage Kicks is a breath of fresh air for music lovers who want their music raw, hard-hitting, and above all, rocking. Since the release of the band's debut EP "Rational Anthems," the four guys of Teenage Kicks have been getting closer and closer to their goal of bringing rock music back down from its contrived, self-serving plateau.

    »Willie Nelson

    September 16, 2014 8:00 PM

During the outlaw-country movement in the '70s few artists were as respected as Willie Nelson. His renegade aura as well as his reputation as somewhat of a drifter helped bolster his notoriety and cement his place in country music. Though many of his peers in the '70s have faded into pop culture oblivion, Nelson has managed to stay relevant - constantly reinventing himself and his sound with dabbles into various forms of music including reggae, blues, jazz and lounge.

Joining the growing pantheon pop punk acts cropping up across the US over the past few decades, Hawthorne Heights has more than proven itself to be a leader amongst them, based upon the band's considerably successful performance with its albums both commercially and critically.

Perhaps the biggest highlight in franchise history came in 1960 during Game 7 of the World Series. Down 7-4 to the powerful New York Yankees, the Pirates won the game and the championship when Bill Mazeroski hit a walk-off home run. Some of the greatest players in Pirates history include Honus Wagner, Roberto Clemente, and Willie Stargell.

    »Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers

    September 16, 2014 7:00 PM

Nicki Bluhm was discovered serendipitously, when she happened to sing an impromptu blues cover at a party and was noticed by her now husband, producer and musician Tim Bluhm. The San Francisco-based songstress soon began recording her debut album with Tim Bluhm, and slowly recruited more members for her backing band, which became known as the Gramblers. Melding Memphis soul with classic country and crooning everything in her powerful, smoky voice, Nicki Bluhm has won over audiences across the country and with each new album continues to mature her sound.

Rhyming schemes combine with electronically programmed beats as well as acoustic instruments, conjuring an easy comparison to Beck's familiar hybrid. Astronautalis has put out a number of independently released albums and EPs. His 2008 album is called Pomegranate and was released on Eyeball Records.

    »White Denim

    September 16, 2014 8:00 PM

Bluesy psych-garage outfit, White Denim was formed from Austin, Texas's highly procreative rock scene back in 2005, when the bands Parque Torch and Peach Train decided to join forces. The four-piece enjoyed success only in Europe for a while, but after signing to Downtown Records in 2009, the band finally amassed a US following as well. The group's gritty, high-energy performances have helped it become a popular live act both throughout Texas and beyond.

Formerly called Sparky's Flaw, the Charlottesville, Virginia five-piece Parachute has managed to land itself amongst the teeny-bopper bands that every little girl dreams of hanging out with. After the band members graduated from college, they focused solely on promoting their debut full length, which landed them a contract with Nivea Skincare, which used two of the band's songs on national commercials. As part of this contract, the band shared the stage with the Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift on the Nivea Times Square Stage for the 2008 New Year's Eve countdown. The result was tremendous fame, national tours with bands like Switchfoot and a girlfriend for the Parachute drummer (who snagged Taylor Swift after the performance).
