The majestic Üetliberg is contained in the Albis hills that stretches over 15 kilometers (nine miles) to the south of the Swiss plateau. Towering over Zürich at roughly 870 meters (2855 feet) above sea level, it is the doorstep of the town. Follow hiking trails up the mountain that can be accessed by train, for panoramic views of north-central Switzerland, the Alps and Lake Zürich. During winter, the snow-capped range is ideal for skiing and sledding. The experience is enhanced by Bruno Weber's artistic work of imaginative figures that punctuate what is arguably the symbol of the city.
